Website and User Terms
How individuals may use aldercrm.com and the Alder CRM service
Last updated: 4 September 2026
Looking for the terms your organisation agreed to? The commercial relationship between Alder and your organisation, including fees, service levels, data processing and liability, is governed by the Customer Agreement, not by this page.
1. What these terms cover
These terms apply to you as an individual when you visit aldercrm.com, or when you use Alder CRM as a staff member, trustee, volunteer or contractor of an organisation that has a workspace. They also cover the Alder CRM iOS companion app.
They do not govern the commercial relationship between Alder and your organisation. That is governed by the Alder CRM Customer Agreement, which your organisation accepted when it signed up at signup.aldercrm.com. If anything in these terms conflicts with the Customer Agreement, the Customer Agreement prevails as between Alder and your organisation.
By using the website or the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. About us
Alder CRM is operated by Alder CRM Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17116559). Registered office: The Brew, 1st Floor, Eagle House, 163 City Road, London, EC1V 1NR.
Contact: hello@aldercrm.com.
3. Your account
Staff accounts are created by invitation from your organisation's administrator, or by us when we set up a workspace. There is no open public registration into an organisation's workspace.
You must:
- Only use an account that has been issued to you
- Keep your sign-in details and devices secure
- Provide accurate details about yourself
- Tell your organisation promptly when you leave or no longer need access
Your organisation controls your access and is responsible for how you use the service on its behalf.
4. Signing in
Sign-in is through third-party identity providers, which depending on your organisation's configuration may include Google, Microsoft or Apple (Sign in with Apple). We receive an identity assertion from the provider (typically your name and email address as the provider supplies them). We do not receive or store your password for those providers.
After you sign in, we use session cookies scoped across *.aldercrm.com so that authentication at auth.aldercrm.com can continue into your organisation's workspace subdomain. You must not interfere with or attempt to bypass the sign-in process.
5. Acceptable use
You may use the website and the service only for lawful purposes and only for your organisation's legitimate activities. You must not:
- Share your credentials or let anyone else use your account
- Access or attempt to access any workspace other than your organisation's
- Scrape, probe or interfere with the website or the service
- Upload malware or other harmful code
- Misrepresent who you are or who you act for
- Use the service to send unsolicited communications
Your organisation has agreed to a fuller Acceptable Use Policy in the Customer Agreement, and you must comply with it. We may suspend or remove access for anyone who breaches these rules.
6. Your data and your organisation's data
Records you create or upload in a workspace belong to your organisation, which is the data controller for them. We process that data on your organisation's instructions under the Customer Agreement. Questions about how your organisation uses the data it holds about donors, beneficiaries, volunteers or staff should go to your organisation.
We are the controller for the limited personal data we hold about you as a user (for example your name, email address and sign-in activity). Our Privacy Policy explains how we use it.
7. Deleting your login
Where the product allows it, you can delete your own login from My Profile → Delete account. This deactivates your login, anonymises your personal details and removes you from any workspaces. It does not delete your organisation's records, which stay under its control.
If you are the only owner of a workspace that still has other members, you will need to transfer ownership before you can delete your login.
8. The iOS app
The iOS app is a companion to the web service and uses the same accounts and data. It does not sell subscriptions or offer in-app purchases; plans are managed on the web. Apple's terms also apply to your use of the app.
9. Intellectual property
The website, the service, the software, our branding and our documentation are owned by Alder CRM Limited or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute any of them except as permitted by law. Your organisation's licence to use the service is set out in the Customer Agreement.
10. Website content
Content on aldercrm.com, including descriptions of features, pricing and case studies, is for general information and may change. It does not form part of any contract with your organisation unless it is incorporated into the Customer Agreement or an order form. We do not warrant that the website will be available at all times or free from errors.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under English law.
We are not liable to you as an individual for any loss arising from your use of the website or the service, except where caused by our negligence or breach of these terms, and then only for loss that was reasonably foreseeable. Our liability to your organisation is governed by the Customer Agreement.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We will publish the updated version here and change the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Changes to the Customer Agreement are notified separately to workspace administrators in accordance with that agreement.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.
