Emails on a paid plan are passed on at cost price — no markup — and you can buy more at any time. The Free plan includes no emails: connect your own email service and you pay that provider directly. Text messages and WhatsApp run through your own provider account on every plan, so you pay the network directly rather than a margin to us: roughly 2–5p per message.
We bill securely by Stripe (all major credit and debit cards) or direct debit. If you need, we're happy to accept payment by invoice — just contact us.
We don't agree with lock-in. All plans can be cancelled on one month's notice. We'll help you export your data at the end of your billing period. Read our billing policy.

You'll receive a clear notification in your account as you approach your contact or user limit. Upgrading is instant — no data migration needed, no downtime. Your data seamlessly moves to the new tier and you're billed on a prorated basis from the upgrade date.
Yes. You can switch at any time. If you're mid-cycle, we'll apply a prorated credit to your account based on the difference in pricing.
No. Alder operates on month-to-month billing with no lock-in period. You can cancel anytime. If you're on annual billing and cancel early, we'll refund you on a prorated basis.
Alder is built exclusively for UK charities. Our pricing already reflects that — it's transparent, generous, and designed to work for the sector. We don't offer additional discounts, but every organisation, regardless of size, gets the full feature set.
Free data migration is included with all paid plans — Grow, Pro, and Scale. The Free tier supports self-serve import via CSV and Excel. We support all common CRM formats, and our support team can advise on the best approach.
